How important is the learning independence? According with the constructivism, the educational independece plays an important role on students development, the logical is simple, one day students will not have someone telling them what to do, so, they need to learn how to being captable to set activities by themself.
The question is: How can teachers create meaninful activities to develop this important skill?
The article: "Maximizing the Benefits of ProjectWork in Foreign Language Classrooms" presents some interesting ideas about how project works can be the answer to the previous question.
First, The possible expantion that this projects have....
Sometimes, teachers don't develop the projects correctly, when we refer to "project work" the first thing that we have to have clear is that: Students have to be the center of the activity whatever if the project or the classes are "student center" the thing here is to leave students to work by themselves.
The activities have to have a fundamental base...
• Focuses on real-world subject matter that can sustain the interest of students
• Requires student collaboration and, at the same time, some degree of student autonomy and independence
• Can accommodate a purposeful and explicit focus on form and other aspects of language
• Is process and product oriented, with an emphasis on integrated skills and end-ofproject reflection.
Having clear the previous, What is the role of the teacher?
Well, that is the point two...
We can say that teachers besides being a teacher, he becomes a facilitator, that follows some certain points to develop this "project works" which are them?
Let's find out:
-Step 1: Students and instructor agree on a theme for the project
-Step 2: Students and instructor determine the final outcome of the project
-Step3: Students and instructor structure the project
-Step 4: Instructor prepares students for the demands of information gathering
-Step 5: Students gather information
-Step 6: Instructor prepares students to compile and analyze data
-Step 7: Students compile and analyze information
-Step 8: Instructor prepares students for the language demands of the final activity
-Step 9: Students present the final product
-Step 10: Students evaluate the project.
The previous steps show the natural process that the activity should develop to being successful. every single step took the idea of the monitoring role of the teacher and the independece of the students, i you payed the enough attention, you will realize that all those points were focused on the idea of build the student knowledge through the teacher knowledge of organization.
Another important field that we have to have clear is the "context" why the context? Students need to find interesting but more realistic the idea on which they will invest all their attention, remeber that most of the time the ignorance plays an important role with them, sometimes they don't realize how important the tasks are. So that is why the "Project works" help teachers to create tasks that are meaningful for them.

The article present a real life project work, an intesting example of how to develop this type of activities.
We are going to create a new example in order to being different.
Our example starts with a classic classroom dilema, Or base idea is: "What type of food is being selling on the schools shops?"
-First, an investigation is going to be presented through 2 ways, a video and a explained investigation with a projector.
-After create the critical idea a brainstorming time will be made. Students will provide ideas to the teacher, simply things, like: "churros will not being part of the stocks"
-Ideas of projects will be presented in this part, why? because is the time to let students work.
-Students have to work using their knowledge but they have to base some of their ideas on sources that can be useful and atractive for them, 21st century skills for example are the best sources that students can use to get the information that they need.
-Students need to prove if the project is being develop in the most correctly way, so a nice idea to prove it is showing real and useful ideas, for example if the topic was "What type of food is being selling on the schools shops?" Students need to show ideas like: "How a balance diet is" etc.
-Before to finish, the teacher have to check and feedback students work. this is meaningful for students, beacuse they can notice how important their ideas are to the person that ask them to develop those ideas, so, mentally this feedback time becomes optimistic for them.
-Finally, the presentation will be done, the teacher have to present the project with the students to the school's authorities.
To conclude, education is a rare type of human's expresion, is necessary to being better but being better had become something changing... Proyect works is one example of how students can learn to being conscious about the importance of the work.

I agree with you Diego. Students need to be the center of the project because they are the ones that are learning, so they need to get as much involved in the task as possible to remember the topics. Also, the teacher is no more than a facilitator that provides the ideal enviroment and choices for learners. Moreover, I think that the projects have to meanigful for students' context or society, so they will be meanigful for them. Nice opinion!
